Frequency Tuned Face Technology

PXG Lightning Drivers feature an advanced Frequency-Tuned Face, engineered to synchronize with the ball's natural compression at impact for a more efficient energy transfer. By optimizing the dominant modal frequency at the center of the face, this technology enhances face deflection in sequence with impact, maximizing peak deflection and delivering faster ball speeds. The result is a driver that harnesses precision-engineered vibrations to generate explosive distance, optimised feel, and  greater overall performance.

New Laser Etched Face

The new laser etched face pattern maintains more consistent performance in dry and wet conditions, while noticeably improving distance, accuracy, and dispersion performance in wet conditions.

Spined Sole Design

The Spined Sole Design in PXG Lightning Drivers is engineered to enhance structural rigidity and optimize energy transfer. By strategically reinforcing the sole, this design eliminates unwanted modal frequencies, ensuring a cleaner, more efficient impact for consistent performance. PXG Lightning Drivers feature a lightweight composite crown and expanded sole inserts, constructed from high-grade carbon fiber composite pre-preg using a sophisticated compression molding process. This advanced material increases the strength-to-weight ratio, allowing our engineers to strategically position mass for optimal performance. With up to 84% more carbon fiber on the sole than previous generations, Lightning Drivers deliver a higher MOI, a lower and deeper CG, and increased forgiveness. The result is a driver designed for exceptional stability, faster ball speeds, and improved distance, giving players a powerful, confidence-inspiring performance off the tee.

Advanced Weight Positioning

With advanced weight positioning, Lightning Drivers deliver optimised MOI for unmatched stability and forgiveness. A rearward weight shift significantly increases the MOI, while the front weights are moved forward and lower towards the center of the sole, boosting stability while staying within USGA limits. These refinements deliver up to 20% more MOI XX and 8% total MOI gain in Lightning Max, with Lightning Tour gaining 9% MOI XX and 5% overall. The result-greater energy transfer, reduced twisting on mishits, and superior consistency for explosive, controlled performance.
