Each loft offering is uniquely engineered to suit the club's intended purpose and ideal dynamics, beginning with the 2, a low-launching, low-spinning, traditional driving iron. Launching higher with more spin, the 4 is the most adept at holding greens, making it an excellent long iron replacement. Finally, the 3, a versatile utility, can serve as a driving iron or a long-iron replacement, as its mid-launch and spin characteristics blend the performance of its siblings. Each loft benefits from a thinner, and therefore more flexible, forged maraging steel face, delivering increased ball speed and distance compared to their predecessors.
The iDi is also significantly more stable and forgiving than the previous model, thanks to a head that's both deeper from front to back and shallower. In addition to generating 15% higher MOI on high/low impacts, the revised head dimensions create space for PING's new inR-Air technology. A literal pocket of air, this innovative design combines with the iron's covered cavity and i-Beam structure to dampen sound, reduce vibration, and improve feel, turning what were formerly shortcomings into strengths.
