This 2.4m long 5x4 (125mm x 100mm) notched fence post is specially designed for feather edge fencing projects, featuring 3 precise V-cut notches into its slim side to securely hold triangular arris rails. With this setup, you’ll create a smooth, stable surface to attach feather edge boards, resulting in a strong and attractive fence that’s easy to assemble and built to last.
The post is pressure-treated to Use Class 4, protecting it against rot and insect damage, even when buried up to 600mm in the ground. This treatment gives the post a desired life expectancy of up to 15 years (though this is not guaranteed), so you can be confident in its durability and performance over time. As with all natural timber products, there may be some variations in colour.
Starting from the top of the post, the edge of the first notch is positioned 175mm down, with approximately 500mm spacing between each subsequent notch.
