Produttori del Barbaresco is a Piedmontese winemaking cooperative founded in the late 1950s, initially with 19 Barbaresco farmers. Today, the membership has grown to 50, and the vineyards extend over approximately 110 hectares spread across the municipalities of Barbaresco, Neive, Treiso, and San Rocco. Production focuses exclusively on Nebbiolo wines. The Nebbiolo grapes come from vineyards located in the prestigious Rabajà cru. Here, the vines enjoy a southwest exposure and are rooted in clay-limestone soils with sandy veins. After harvest, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, and the finished wine then ages in oak barrels for 30 months before bottling and a further 9 months of bottle aging. In the glass, Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja reveals an intense ruby color with garnet highlights. Its aromatic profile is elegant and seductive, with ripe fruity notes of cherry, blueberry, and raspberry, subtle hints of violet, and earthy, undergrowth notes. On the palate, it is complex, structured, and harmonious. It has a full body, a pleasant fruity intensity, and good acidity that refreshes the palate and balances the tasting experience. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, and the finish is long and persistent with fruity, undergrowth notes. It pairs deliciously with beef bourguignon and game.
