Founded in 1996, it has played a key role in the growth of the Casablanca Valley winemaking industry and produces innovative, high-quality wines from various wine regions across the country, including the Maule and Maipo Valleys. The House of Morande red is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of other red varietals, such as Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from the estate's finest plots in San Bernardo, facing north-south, located at the foot of Cerro Chena, in the heart of the Maipo Valley. Here, the vines enjoy a temperate Mediterranean climate and are deeply rooted in the third alluvial terrace of the Maipo River, composed of gravel and clay with a silty structure. After manual harvesting, a three-day maceration at low temperatures, and fermentation, the finished wine ages for 12 months in French oak (50% new), then in large barrels for another 6 months, and finally for 12 months in bottle. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense garnet-red color and a broad, ripe aromatic profile with notes of raspberry, red berries, and black cherry, against a spicy and delicately toasted background. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety, balanced, and concentrated. It has fine, well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth, and persistent finish. Try it with beef and mushroom stew.
