Maison Louis Jadot is a historic Burgundy winery founded in 1859 and renowned for its wide range of exceptional wines. Today, the company is owned by the Kopf family of the Kobrand company (its sole importer in the US). Louilly Jadot's Pouilly-Fuissé is made with Chardonnay grapes from the homonymous appellation located in southern Burgundy, on the northern border of Beaujolais. Here, the vines are rooted in clay and limestone soils dating back to the Jurassic period. After harvest, vinification takes place traditionally, and the finished wine then ages for 8-10 months in a mix of oak and stainless steel to ensure a good balance of freshness and complexity. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright straw yellow color and a vibrant aromatic profile with fresh fruity notes of melon and peach, followed by aromas of verbena and wildflowers, with mineral and almond notes in the background. On the palate, this Pouilly Fuisse is elegant and refreshing with a subtle saline note and a well-balanced structure. It is smooth and lively with a long finish that evokes fruity and mineral notes. It is a wine that beautifully expresses the exceptional quality of its terroir. Try it with shrimp Pad Thai, seafood, or as an elegant aperitif.
