Domaine Boisson is a family estate located in the municipality of Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy. Founded in the 1980s by Bernard Boisson, the winery was taken over by his children in 2017. Pierre and Anne renovated the cellar and now manage the business together while continuing their own separate productions. Pierre Boisson's Meursault Blanc is an extremely elegant Chardonnay that perfectly combines the minerality of the Meursault terroir with the estate's minimalist style. The Chardonnay grapes come from vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils, which lend it freshness and a silky texture. In the glass, the wine displays a clear and brilliant pale golden yellow color with silvery highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex. The nose opens with notes of ripe lemon, pear, and white flowers, followed by hints of butter and toasted hazelnuts with a gentle smoky finish. On the palate, it is taut and deep, concentrated and energetic with a silky texture. It is full-bodied, lively, and generous, with a balanced character that combines richness and minerality. The finish is long and slightly buttery. It is excellent with roast poultry served with white sauces, scallops, or white fish such as sea bass and turbot. A must-try with Comté cheese.
