Founded in 1913 by Luigi Minuto, the estate now spans approximately 8 hectares of vineyards spread across some of the area's most prestigious crus. It is managed by Roberto, Luigi's great-grandson and the eighth generation of this family of winemakers. The Nebbiolo grapes come from a vineyard located approximately 310 meters above sea level, in the Rabaja cru, in the municipality of Barbaresco. The vines, averaging 45 years old, enjoy a southwest exposure. After harvesting and fermenting in concrete tanks, the finished wine ages first in large oak barrels and then in the bottle. Cascina Luisin's Barbaresco Rabaja is an elegant and distinctive wine with excellent aging potential. On the nose, it reveals a complex and seductive aromatic profile with notes of ripe red fruits interspersed with hints of cocoa, coffee, and spices. On the palate, it is intense and dense, powerful yet balanced, with a soft, smooth texture and firm yet perfectly integrated tannins thanks to the special attention paid to Roberto Minuto's extraction during the winemaking process. It is generous but not opulent, with a vibrant edge and a long, earthy finish. It can be cellared for a long time, or enjoyed now with game stews or aged cheeses.
