Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. A young winemaker originally from Cadiz, Veronica Ortega founded her winery in 2010 in the region of Castilla y Leon, in the Bierzo denomination, after years of study and work at some of the most prestigious estates in Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, and Priorat. Passionate about the Mencia grape variety, Veronica produces excellent wines crafted with grapes grown according to organic practices, from old vineyards. Made with 100% Mencía grapes from vineyards located in Valtuille, Quite is a youthful and fruity red. The vines, over eighty years old, are rooted in sandy-clay soils with a strong presence of minerals. After manual harvesting and fermentation in steel tanks, the finished wine rests half in used oak barrels and the other half in terracotta containers, for 8 months. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright ruby color and a fragrant and exuberant aromatic profile with notes of strawberry, cherry, and floral scents. On the palate, it is soft, lively, juicy and fruity. It has a refreshing acidity and a pleasant mineral vein in the background. It is vibrant and easy to approach; the ideal wine for a barbecue.
