Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Envínate is a wine project founded by 4 friends and former university classmates. The company has vineyards in various areas of Spain, including Ribeira Sacra and the Canary Islands, and has projects in Extremadura and Almansa. The work in the vineyard is manual and excludes the use of chemicals, and in the cellar, human intervention is reduced to a minimum, to produce wines that fully reflect their terroir of origin. Envinate Lousas Parcela Seoane is a blend of mostly Mencía, with additions of other varieties including Brancellao, Merenzao, and Garnacha Tintorera. The grapes are selected and hand-picked from a single vineyard located at an altitude of between 400 and 500 meters above sea level, in the Ribeira Sacra, in the Doade area of Amandi. Here the vines enjoy a south-west exposure and slate and schist soils. After the harvest and spontaneous fermentation, the finished wine rests in 500-liter oak barrels for about 12 months. In the glass, the wine reveals a fragrant and broad aromatic profile with elegant notes of raspberry, strawberry, and cranberry, followed by floral hints and some touches of oak. On the palate, it is smooth, round, and refined with velvety tannins and a good concentration of fruit that lingers in the long finish. With food, it is very versatile: it is excellent with mushroom-based recipes, octopus in red wine, and rabbit.
