Joseph Burrier Chateau de Beauregard Saint-Veran 2022

Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Owned by the Burrier family since 1854, Chateau de Beauregard is one of the most prestigious wineries in southern Burgundy. Of the 37 hectares of vineyards on the estate, around 7.5 are located in the Saint Veran appellation, and more precisely in Chasselas, in an area where the vines benefit from excellent southern exposure and stony and calcareous soils. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand from vines around 40 years old. After vinification, the finished wine rests on the lees for 8 months, half in barrels and half in tanks, to enhance the pure expression of the grape variety and terroir and ensure a good balance in the wine. Saint Veran by Chateau Beauregard is a fresh and youthful wine that reveals intense aromas of citrus, apple and peach on the nose, with light hints of honey in the background. On the palate it is lively and mineral. It has a good structure and a strong and well-balanced acidity. It is juicy, with a long finish that recalls notes of grapefruit. It is the ideal wine to pair with grilled fish or seafood, and in particular with scallops. Do not miss the traditional pairing with local goat cheese.
