Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Chateau de Beauregard is a prestigious Burgundy estate located in Fuissé and owned by the Burrier family since 1854. The vineyards, which extend over 37 hectares, spread across the appellations of Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly, Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent, have been certified organic since 2022. Made with hand-picked Chardonnay grapes from a plot located in the Premier Cru Vers Cras, on the Beauregard plateau, between Fuissé and Pouilly, at an altitude of around 250 metres, the wine reveals a style closer to the Chablis wines than to those of Maconnais, probably due to the type of soil, composed of very stony white limestone from the Upper Oxfordian. After vinification with natural yeasts in barrels, the wine rests on the lees for around 1 year and then ages for several months in steel. Pouilly-Fuisse Premier Cru Vers Cras is a classy wine, characterized by an elegant aromatic profile with notes of citrus, yellow fruits, and acacia flowers. On the palate, it is savory and mineral, lean and crisp. It has a marked acidity, a medium-light body, and a long finish, characterized by a slightly bitter vein. Try it with chicken in white wine or vegetable tarte tatin.
