Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Domaine Changarnier is a family-run Burgundy winery, located in Monthelie since the XVIII century and managed today by brothers Claude and Antoine with the collaboration of winemaker Fabrice Groussin. The small estate has about 5 hectares of vineyards spread across 13 appellations and cultivated according to organic standards, respecting the terroir to produce high-quality wines that are expressive of the typicity of the various appellations of Burgundy. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected and harvested manually, from the vineyard located in the Premier Cru Les Clous on a slope with a steep slope in the upper part where the soil is marly. In the lower part, the soil is clay-limestone. The 40-year-old vines benefit from east/southeast exposure. The Monthelie Premier Cru Les Clous is an elegant and balanced wine with a powerful and broad aromatic profile that reveals notes of raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, followed by spicy and slightly toasted hints. On the palate, it is soft and round, broad and well-structured with firm but well-integrated tannins and a long, slightly spicy finish. It is excellent with partridge, roast guinea fowl, or rabbit.
