Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Alsace, in the village of Beblenheim, Domaine Bott-Geyl has been a family-run winery since 1775. Today, the estate, which extends over approximately 14 hectares of vineyards, is led by the talented Jean-Christophe Bott, awarded winemaker of the year in 1996 by the French magazine Gault & Millau. Jean-Christophe places great emphasis on the quality of the Alsatian terroir and has worked its vineyards according to organic and biodynamic farming standards since the 2000s. Riesling Schoenenbourg Grand Cru is a wine of great elegance and exceptional aging potential made with Riesling grapes from the homonymous Alsatian Grand Cru, in the municipality of Riquewihr. After manual harvesting and a long alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine rests for a few months on its lees before bottling. On the nose, the wine reveals great complexity with mineral and candied citrus aromas. On the palate, it is broad, full-bodied, and powerful with a firm and refreshing acidity and a long and slightly savory finish. Keep it in the cellar for a few years to enjoy the evolutionary capabilities of this splendid wine, or enjoy it with a fish carpaccio, or a sushi dinner.
