Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Owned by the Armenier family for several generations, Domaine de Marcoux has roots that date back to the 11th century and is now run by Sophie Armenier and her son Vincent Estevenin, following the retirement of Catherine, Sophie's sister. The estate has around 18 hectares of vineyards certified organic since the 1990s, of which approximately half are planted with white grape varieties and the other half with red. Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is a blend of Roussanne and Bourboulenc, with small additions of Clairette and Grenache Blanc. The grapes are hand-picked from the Les Esqueirons and Les Bousquets parcels planted between 1987 and 2020 and located respectively on the western and eastern slopes of the hill of the village of Bourboulenc. After vinification, the wine rests on fine lees in stainless steel tanks and demi-muids. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright color with golden hues. Its aromatic profile is broad and ripe with notes of pear and pineapple, honey, and white flowers. The palate is full and rounded, expressive and rich. It has a velvety texture and a long finish that recalls honeyed notes. It is an elegant and well-structured wine that pairs well with poultry, especially if served with white sauces, and roast turkey.
