Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Barolo, in the heart of Piedmont’s winemaking region, Luciano Sandrone winery was founded in the late 1970s and remains a family-run business today. The winery spans approximately 27 hectares of vineyards and produces wines based on Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto from some of the most renowned sites in the Langhe. The Nebbiolo grapes are selected from 4 different vineyards (Baudana in Serralunga d'Alba, Villero in Castiglione Falletto, Vignane in Barolo, and Merli in Novello) characterized by different soil and climate conditions and therefore capable of creating a complete and balanced wine. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel vats. The finished wine ages for 24 months in tonneaux before assembly and bottling, and rests another 18 months in the bottle before being released for sale. Barolo Le Vigne by Luciano Sandrone has a clear and lively ruby color and a fresh and complex aromatic profile with notes of berries and cherries, rose petals and violets, licorice and graphite. On the palate, it is juicy with ripe tannins and a good acidic vein. It is intense and elegant, generous and concentrated. The finish is long and recalls notes of red fruits and spices. Try it with wild boar stew or goulash.
