Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Albert Bichot is a prestigious family-run winery founded in 1831, and today led by Alberic Bichot, the sixth generation of the family, since 1996. Over the course of its nearly two centuries of life, the company has come to include 6 estates and approximately 100 hectares of vineyards distributed from north to south in some of the most renowned appellations of the region. The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-picked from parcels located on the hills on both sides of the Rhoin River on clay-limestone gravelly soils in the Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation, north of Beaune. After vinification in temperature-controlled oak vats, the finished wine rests in oak barrels (20-30% new) for 14-16 months before bottling and release. Savigny-Les-Beaune Rouge by Albert Bichot is a smooth and balanced red with a fragrant and delicate aromatic profile with notes of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry and hints of baking spices. On the palate, it is round and generous with well-balanced acidity and fine, velvety tannins. It has a medium body and a long and pleasantly fruity finish. It is quite versatile in food pairings: it works well with pork tenderloin, roast turkey, and game birds.
