Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley, Beaux Freres is a renowned winery founded in the 1980s by Robert M. Parker, Jr. and his winemaker brother-in-law Mike Etzel with the dream of producing Pinot Noirs that expressed the unique and extraordinary terroir of Ribbon Ridge. After years of trials, the introduction of biodynamic farming practices and minimal intervention winemaking techniques, the first harvest was in 1991. The winery has since become one of the most renowned in the state for its beautiful wines. Today, Beaux Freres is part of the Henriot Group and is run by Michael Etzel’s son. Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is the winery's flagship wine and represents the pinnacle of Oregon's burgeoning wine scene. The grapes come from eight vineyards. After vinification, the wine rests in oak barrels (about 35% new). In the glass, the wine takes on a bright and youthful color with ruby tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with fruity notes of strawberry, raspberry, and black cherry, followed by rose petals and hints of baking spices, cloves, and thyme. On the palate, it is elegant and silky, soft and generous, fresh and fruity. It has a refreshing acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long and recalls subtle earthy and aromatic herbs. It is the ideal wine with herb-roasted lamb.
