Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. This is Champagne A. Margaine’s flagship wine, a delicious and pure expression of the family winery’s terroir. It is crafted from 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, with 70% of the total coming from reserve wines. It bursts with character from the beginning, with rich scents of green and red apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and spice. The Margaine family, a father, mother, and daughter unit, live in the heart of their estate in Villers-Marmery. It is a terroir specially suited for white grapes, an oasis in the middle of Pinot Noir-growing land in Montagne de Reims. The family can trace their history all the way back to 1796, when Louis Margaine first planted vines in the region. The grapes for this wine come solely from Premier Cru vineyards in Villers-Marmery. It is deeply harmonious and textured on the palate, with a perfect balance of citrus and orchard fruits. In all, 70% of the mixture did not go through malolactic fermentation, adding an acidic bite to balance out the moussey mouthfeel. A perfect entryway into the Margaine’s world, consider pairing this wine with soft cheese, seafood, or thinly sliced meats.
