Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for at least an hour. Podere Boscarelli is a family-run winery founded in the 1960s and located in Cervognano di Montepulciano. The estate extends over approximately 22 hectares of vineyards where Sangiovese, locally called Prugnolo Gentile, reigns supreme. The vineyards, located at approximately 300 meters above sea level, enjoy particularly favorable soil and climate conditions with alluvial soils, rich in skeleton and sand. The Nobile di Montepulciano del Podere Boscarelli is produced with a majority of Sangiovese grapes, as required by the denomination, and small additions of local Colorino, Canaiolo, and Mammolo vines. After manual harvesting and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the finished wine is aged in Allier and Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 18 to 24 months. It then rests in the bottle for a few more months. The wine has a clear and brilliant color with ruby tones. Its aromatic profile releases an intense and fruity bouquet with floral scents of violet and hints of bergamot. On the palate, it is deep and concentrated, has a good body, and young but well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and recalls notes of small red fruits. It is excellent with grilled meat, pasta with ragu, and with mature cheeses.
