Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. After years full of experiences, music, and art, Dieter Meier decided in the 1990s to make Argentine wine by dedicating himself to organic farming. He purchased a ranch outside Buenos Aires and vineyards in some of the most exciting and promising wine regions in the country. Today, his company produces world-renowned wines that are pure expressions of the Argentinian terroirs and made with minimal intervention. The Malbec grapes come from a 20-year-old low-yielding organic vineyard located in Agrelo in the Valle de Uco wine region, at an altitude of over 1000 meters on native alluvial soil. After the harvest, the grapes are partly macerated on the skins and partly fermented in oak barrels. The finished wine then rests in oak barrels for 18 months. Puro Grape Selection Malbec is a powerful and intense wine that reveals a deep red-purple color in the glass. Its aromatic profile is broad and fruity with expressive notes of plum and blackberry, some delicate spicy hints of vanilla and violet, and nuances of coffee. On the palate, it is full and consistent, very balanced and characterful. It has a well-defined acidic vein, thanks to the high altitude cultivation, which makes it fresh and lively. It has robust and well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. It pairs perfectly with hearty meat-based dishes, such as braised game or goulash.
