Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the northwestern part of Georgia, the young Naberauli Winery is famous for its traditional wines with indigenous grapes such as Saperavi, Aleksandrouli, Dzelshavi, and Tsolikouri. Here, in the Racha-Lechkhumi wine region, viticulture has millennia-old roots and the vines find the natural habitat for the production of concentrated and high-quality wines. Khvanchkara is a semi-sweet red wine produced from a blend of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes selected and hand-picked from the Racha region, an area of Georgia particularly famous for its incredible wine history. In the glass, the wine reveals a lively and intense color with ruby tones and an expressive and fruity aromatic profile, characterized by notes of red berries, plums, and cherries, followed by floral hints of violet. On the palate, it is rich and soft, elegant and harmonious with a pleasant natural sweet note well balanced by a fresh and lively acidity vein. It has a medium body and a velvety texture. The finish is long and recalls light notes of licorice. Store it for a few years, or drink it now with medium-aged sheep's cheeses, chili con carne, spicy pork stew, or Indian dishes.
