Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, Château Malmaison has a centuries-old tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. After a long period of abandonment, the domain was purchased in the 1970s by Edmond de Rothschild who redesigned and replanted the 24 hectares of vineyards with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines here benefit from an exceptional terroir with clay-limestone soils and a calcareous substrate that guarantees the production of high-quality Bordeaux wines. The blend is mainly composed of Merlot with a smaller percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are selected and harvested manually. After vinification, which happens in steel at a controlled temperature, the wine rests in barrels for 16 months before bottling. Chateau Malmaison Moulis en Medoc reveals a dense, dark color with purple tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and intensely fruity with notes of raspberry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, and plum and an undertone of coffee and tobacco. On the palate, it is smooth and medium-bodied. It has a fruity character with vegetal notes and soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is fresh and persistent. It is excellent with stewed or grilled red meat.
