Aucuba japonica 'Pepperspot' is a robust, evergreen shrub with bright green, toothed leaves heavily sprinkled with small gold freckles. Boasting finer stippling than the more boldly marked Aucuba ‘Crotonifolia’, Aucuba japonica 'Pepperspot' is just as resilient. This bushy shrub provides dense screening and makes an excellent choice for structural planting or hedging in the most challenging conditions, withstanding dense shade, dry soils and coastal exposure. The large, glossy, variegated leaves reflect light and inject colour - perfect for brightening dingy areas of the garden.Small, inconspicuous red-brown flowers with four bright yellow stamens are carried from April to May. A male form, Aucuba japonica 'Pepperspot' does not produce berries. Height and Spread: 2m (6.5ft).
