Champagne Tarlant Zero Brut Nature

66

Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few more years. No need to decant before serving. This is a stunningly dry Champagne, with zero added sugar. It was crafted from an interesting blend of equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir, along with 4% of Meslier, Arbanne, and Pinot Blanc. It opens up with a luscious, bubbly nose of lime zest, pink grapefruit, white flowers, and freshly baked bread. Champagne Tarlant is a stalwart family winery, led by 12th-generation winemakers Benôit and Melanie, who are brother and sister. Their land encompasses 14 hectares and 4 Crus, spread across Vallèe de la Marne, an area that the Tarlant family have tended to since the 17th century, at the very least. Appearing a brilliant greenish yellow colour in the glass, the palate is packed with airy bubbles, creating a creamy, mousse-like texture. You can discover flavours of brioche, ripe hedgerow fruits, grated lemon and lime, and a subtle minerality. It offers thrilling acidity, coupled with a rare elegance that fans of dry Champagne will love. It stayed on the lees for about 4 years, fermenting for a second time before disgorgement. Consider pairing it with caviar, popcorn chicken, or a soft cheese board.
