Champagne R.H. Coutier Cuvee Rose Grand Cru

Drink it now or cellar for 10 years. No need to decant before serving. This gorgeous Grand Cru Rosé is from the village of Ambonnay in Champagne, a location best known for its Pinot Noir. The wine is crafted from 40% Pinot Noir and 60% Chardonnay. It is vibrant from the beginning - a light red colour with pink bubbles, bursting with scents of red berries, orange peel, dried herbs, and tropical hints of watermelon. The family winery is currently run by René Coutier, whose father was the first person to plant Chardonnay in the region’s rich clayish soils. Coutier wines are an affordable and delicious way to start exploring Champagne’s Grand Crus. On top of that, the Coutier family sells 80% of their grape yields to a local cooperative, so each of their bottles is something of a collector's item. This rosé brings a fine, persistent perlage to the mouth, which is a sign of a great Champagne. It is rich and layered, offering flavours of strawberry, grapefruit, caramel, and lime zest. The Coutier family’s 9 hectares are packed with nutritious soils, which lend a crisp minerality to the finish. This Rosé is perfect for pairing with chicken, soft pungentcheese, and fresh summer salads.
