ABOUT THE WINEThe story of Vinchio and Vaglio Serra is the story of their inhabitants’ love for Monferrato, a difficult and lean land, with steep slopes overhanging vines at the edge of the woods. Despite the challenging landscape, on these hills the sun shines all day long, frost and fog are absent and the rows of grapes only shadow themselves from dawn to dusk. Founded in 1959, Vinchio Vaglio produces exceptional quality wines from this challenging yet rewarding landscape.. TASTING NOTESThis Barbera has a ruby red colour with intense violet hues. The wine has an intense, fruity and vinous nose with aromas of little red fruits. On the palate, the wine is round, fine, fruity, fresh and easy drinking.. FOOD PAIRINGAperitif with cheese or salami board, all kind of starters or light first course dishes, noodle or vegetable soups, salads, white meats.. FRIARWOOD SAYS“Tane” or lairs refer to small caves dug into the often sandy hills which were once the farmer’s shelter in case of bad weather or to store tools.
