A truly magnificent, medium-sized, deciduous tree with pure white double flowers, emerging on bare stems before the large, green foliage appears. The cup-shaped blooms are slightly fragrant, producing what is often described as a lemon scent. Magnolia dendulata 'Double Diamond' is often goes on to produce red, cone-shaped fruits in late summer, making it ideal for growing in wide borders or planting as a magnificent stand-alone specimen. Particularly hardy, withstanding even the most severe of frosts, but may suffer if planted in an exposed site. Height: 8m (26').
