NOKTON is the title given to large aperture f1.5 or faster Voigtländer lenses. In the 1950s when the first generation NOKTON was introduced, it was positioned as a lens that made photography possible even in very low-light conditions. In contrast, the advantage of large-aperture lenses in today's world, where image sensors have become more sensitive, is the ability to use bokeh and limited depth of field as photographic expression. At a maximum aperture of f1.5 the NOKTON provides outstanding bokeh in the out of focus images.
