Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' is popular in urban towns and cities, for it?s tolerance to polluted air. Equally it makes for a fantastic specimen, feature tree in bigger gardens for its one of the first to bloom in spring with its pink-blushed blossoms. Flowers eventually fade to white, which contrasts well with the purple-black branches. Foliage starts bronze, then deep purple in summer, followed by red, orange and yellow in autumn for three seasons of colour.
