Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Founded by Pablo Eguzkiza and Telmo Rodriguez, the Telmo Rodríguez Winery has a philosophy that goes against the Spanish market trend of using international grape varieties, and actually focuses its production on native varieties and the revaluation of abandoned vineyards such as Molino Real in Malaga or Pegaso in Cebreros. Produced in limited quantities, this wine is a pure Garnacha. The grapes come from vineyards located between 850 and 1200 meters above sea level in the Cebreros area on slate soils and a subsoil of metamorphic rocks. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts and the finished wine rests in French oak barrels of various origins for 24-30 months before being bottled. Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra is an elegant mineral red that has a broad and intense aromatic profile with notes of ripe red fruit and hints of flowers and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it has a good concentration of flavors and a medium body. It is balanced, clean, and ripe and has fine and delicate tannins. The acidity is well balanced as well as the alcohol. The finish is long and recalls notes of graphite. It is the ideal wine for lamb.
