This deciduous Magnolia grows into a large, upright shrub or small tree, adorned with glossy, bright green leaves. From late May, as the leaves unfurl, slender blue buds with yellow inner petals begin to bloom. The petals stand upright, creating a beautifully fluted flower. A smaller version of Magnolia 'Blue Opal', 'Blue Baby' is ideal for compact gardens. Flowering later than most Magnolias, it is less prone to late frosts and, being a cultivar of Magnolia acuminata, it is also one of the hardiest. Height: 3-5m (10-16.4ft). Spread: 2-3m (6.5-9.8ft).
