Bodega Noemia Malbec 2018

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded by the Italian Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and the Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers on the ruins of an ancient winery from the 1930s, Bodega Noemia is located in the Rio Negro region of southern Argentina. Their first vintage was released in 2001, after various renovations, and since then the company has managed to establish itself on the global scene thanks to a range of wines of great elegance and extremely expressive of the terroir. The wine is made with 100% Malbec grapes sourced from a 1.5-hectare vineyard, divided into 4 parcels, planted in 1932 and cultivated biodynamically since 2006. Here the grapes enjoy an exceptional terroir with different soils composed of clay, sand, limestone, pebbles, and silt. The four parcels are harvested and then fermented separately. The finished wine ages for 18 months. Bodega Noemia's Malbec is a rich and powerful wine with an intense color with purple tones. On the nose, it reveals an exuberant and broad bouquet with aromas of dark fruit, black cherries, and then hints of coffee and cocoa, cloves, and other sweet spices. On the palate, it has a full body and is very harmonious with well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. It is soft and juicy and closes with a long and persistent finish. It's excellent with all red meat, but it's a must-try with a roasted leg of lamb.
