Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Founded in Irpinia, in the southern Italian region of Campania, in 1995, the Guido Marsella winery extends over approximately 25 hectares of land, of which 8 are vineyards. Here the Fiano, Greco, and Falanghina grapes enjoy very particular pedoclimatic conditions thanks to the high altitude (about 800 meters above sea level), the breezes that protect from the formation of fungal diseases, and clay-loam soils, rich in minerals and very porous, therefore capable of high water retention. The wine is produced with Greco di Tufo grapes selected and harvested by hand from vineyards approximately 25 years old, located on clayey and tufaceous soils. After vinification, the wine is aged in steel for a few months to guarantee the pure expression of this grape. Greco di Tufo Poggio Reali is a wine with an intense and brilliant straw yellow color. The nose reveals typical aromas of ripe stone fruit, Mediterranean herbs, and some mineral notes. On the palate, it is fresh and lean, savory, and with a marked acidity. The finish is persistent and recalls mineral notes. It is ideal as an aperitif and with fish and also pairs very well with some vegetarian recipes and fresh cheeses.
