Cellar for 20 years or more. Decant for 2 hours before serving. Harvested from the Finca Bella Vista vineyard, which is planted exclusively with Malbec and located almost a kilometre above sea level, this wine is one of the finest red wine offerings that Argentina has to offer. Its nose is packed with scents of cherry, plum, blackberry and smoke, coupled with pungent notes of violet and spice. Achaval Ferrer was founded by three friends in 1998 – Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer, from whom the winery took its name, as well as Italian winemaker Roberto Cipresso. Along the way, they also sought help from the famous French wine consultant, Michel Rolland, who has taken a close interest in all things Argentinian. These days, Achaval Ferrer offers some of the best Malbec on the premium wine market, grown in some of the most extreme locations in the world. Finca Bella Vista is a vibrant, concentrated red wine, showing elevated acidity and dry, grippy tannins on the palate. The vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo were planted in 1910, granting a mature, complex character to the wine. Look for flavours of blueberry, plum, cocoa, smoke, and oak-infused spice. The finish is long and tactile. This is a great wine for a special occasion or a sophisticated dinner, perfect for pairing with red meat dishes, roasted vegetables, or smoked cheese.
