House of the Dragon Red Blend 2021

Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Inspired by the Westerosi dry wines produced by House Redwyne in the Arbor, and the full-blooded wines of Dorne, the House of the Dragon red blend was made with a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. It’s a beguiling dark red in the glass, with purple hues. On the nose, you can detect scents of cranberry, cassis, and dark cocoa. The grapes were sourced from the Barossa Valley, Australia. The palate brings rich notes of dark red fruit, cocoa and coffee, balanced out by sweet hints of maple, toffee and caramel. It coats the mouth in soft tannins and layers of red hedgerow berries. Although it is worthy of a place in the endless cellars of Casterly Rock, it was also made for immediate hedonistic enjoyment, á la Robert Baratheon. Consider pairing it with wild boar, pungent cheese, and a season of Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon.
