Enjoy it now or cellar for a few more years. No need to decant before serving. The Blanco Legitimo from Durigutti Winery is a beautiful light green and gold, with a bouquet of fresh herbs and ripe citrus fruits. It is a fascinating blend of white grapes, all harvested from the same vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina. Look for the dried fruit notes of the Pedro Ximénez grape, the saline quality of Palomino, the ginger spice of Chenin Blanc, and much more. Durigutti Family Winemakers began in 2002, as a small family project spearheaded by two brothers, Hector and Pablo Durigutti. The winery’s headquarters can be found in Las Compuertas, but the grapes for this wine were harvested from Rivadavia in the north of Mendoza, where the vineyards grow on sandy soils. Blanco Legitimo begins with a thick, medium-bodied mouthfeel, gained from fermenting in egg-shaped concrete casks for 4 months. On the palate, you can find rich flavours of apple skin, pear, grapefruit and orange, as well as more tropical notes of banana. The finish brings an injection of green herbs, and the entire experience is driven along by a fresh acidity. This wine is best served slightly chilled, alongside soft cheese, roast chicken, or a wide variety of seafood.
