Drink now or cellar for up to 20 years. Decant 1 hour before serving. Founded in 1997 in the charming town of Sebastopol in Sonoma County, Kosta Browne produces some of California’s finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. In total the winery has featured on Wine Spectator’s “Top 100 Wines” list seven times since 2005. Led by talented winemaker Julien Howsepian, the enology team crafts exquisite wines from cool climate vineyards spread across the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Rita Hills, and Santa Lucia Highlands. They source fruit from trusted partner growers as well as the 170 acres of vineyards which the winery owns or leases. This magnificent Sonoma Coast Pinot is created from fruit from both northern and southern parts of the appellation which gives it greater complexity and balance. After vinification in stainless steel tanks, part of the young wine is aged in French oak for up to 16 months. Deep notes of blueberry, dark cherry, and plum dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals punchy tannins, a full body, and a solid core of rich ripe berries. This is a great robust red to pair with hearty game dishes or to enjoy alongside beef stews or roast lamb.
