Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. The Bemberg Estate is a young winery, founded by the Bemberg family, with the intention of producing exceptional quality Argentine wines from single vineyards. The agricultural and winemaking operations are led by the oenologist Daniel Pi, who practices manual harvests and spontaneous fermentations, with the aim of producing highly representative wines of the different Argentine terroirs through a virtual journey from the north to the south of the country. The company produces limited quantities of wines that always receive enthusiastic reviews. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec grapes come from the Finca El Tomillo vineyard, planted in 2004 in Gualtallary, at 1,210 meters above sea level on alluvial soil. Vinification takes place separately for Malbec and the Cabernets, with spontaneous yeasts. The wine then matures for 18 months in new French oak. The Bemberg Pionero has an intense dark red color and a complex aromatic profile with aromas of plums, cherries, and blackberries, followed by notes of violets, dried herbs, pepper, tobacco, and some mineral hints of graphite. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured with vibrant acidity and well-integrated, velvety tannins. The finish is long and pleasant. It's a great match for grilled meat, especially game, and it’s perfect with venison steak.
