ABOUT THE WINEThe winery was founded in 1942 by Francisco Casas Gomez, it is still a family run winery, with the fourth generation now in charge. The vineyards cover more than 10 hectares, surrounding the cellar. The climate is continental with influence from the Atlantic and the River Douro, there are extreme contrasts in temperature during winter and summer. There is a great wine making tradition in this area, which predates the Roman era. Eduardo Casas has now taken over the Bodega to continue the next generation of the Casas legacy.TASTING NOTESThe nose is very explosive, with red fruit and liquorice that are well assembled with spicy, toast and chocolate nuances. The mouth is full, with aromas of fruit liquorice and seasoned roasted chocolate.FOOD PAIRINGBrilliant with Texas style spice-rubbed ribs and grilled corn, or for any other decadent barbecue.
