Laburnocytisus 'Adamii' is a deciduous tree that spreads and has a pillowy canopy of deep green palmate leaves. It is a grafted hybrid of Chamaecytis purpureus and Laburnum anagyroides. During May and June, the pea-like flowers come in three colours, each on their own raceme. The yellow and purple flowers are identical to their parents, and the remaining colour is a purple-pink flushed yellow. It is indeed a fully sturdy tree that thrives in most well-drained soils and makes an excellent specimen tree. Height: 8m (25'). Spread: 6m (20').
