Wallbarn's Protecto-Drain 20P Drainage Membrane is designed as a reservoir and drainage layer for green roof construction. It is placed above the protected and waterproofed concrete deck, and below the filter layer, soil substrate layer and vegetation layers on extensive green roof systems.The HDPE membrane features 20mm cups spaced evenly, but the area between the cups is perforated. When placed on a horizontal surface, this design allows water to accumulate in the cups, which helps to sustain the roots. Excess water can drain through the holes and beneath the membrane into the drainage outlet. As well as this, the water in the cups can be pulled back up through the filter layer to nourish the vegetation above.
