Arachniodes aristata ?Variegata? is a very attractive evergreen fern that produces wide, rather glossy fronds with a brighter strip along each midrib. This hardy perennial associates well with other shade-loving plants such as Carex ?Ice Dance? and hostas. Arachniodes aristata ?Variegata? is hardy in sheltered, well-drained locations in milder parts of the UK, meaning it may benefit from thick mulch in cold parts of the UK. Plant in groups in a shady area for excellent ground cover. Alternatively, grow this fern in a container indoors to add evergreen colour to a shaded room. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).
