Wayfaring Tree (Hedging)

2

A dense, upright shrub, becoming spreading as time progresses. Viburnum lantana has thick, dark green foliage and creamy-white flowers in May. After flowering, green fruit starts to form, turning orange-red then black. Particularly ornamental as all three fruit colours can be seen in the same cluster at any one time. Although the tough foliage helps retain this shrubs colourful appearance, it is not evergreen and will lose its foliage for a few weeks in winter. Listed by the RHS as a Plant for Pollinators and prefers an acid soil. Height: 4m (13'). Spread: 4m (13'). Planting distance: 45cm (18).(3 plants per metre for a single line hedge).Useful links:How to plant hedging
