Ulmus minor subsp. sarniensis is a fully hardy, upright deciduous tree with a slender, narrow habit. This Wheatley Elm matures into a conical-shaped tree with a handsome crown of glossy green foliage in summer before it transforms to golden-yellow in autumn. As the tree matures, its peeling, greyish-brown bark makes an interesting feature in winter. In spring, very small red-brown blooms emerge which are followed by small, light brown, winged fruits in early summer. A great specimen tree for restricted spaces due to its narrow habit and will grow well in full sun or semi-shade. Height: 10m (33'). Spread: 3m (10').
