Grape Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic popular variety and is the world's most planted grape ! Conical bunches of small purple-black grapes later in the season can produce a fine red table wine with a slight hint of blackcurrant. A hardy shrub performing best under glass or in a south-facing sunny spot in the garden ensuring enough time for the fruits to ripen. A self-fertile variety, the grapes are fairly small but the vine has good resistance to disease. Originating from France. Height of cordon trained vine: 1.8m (6'). Spread of cordon trained vine: 1.5m (5'). Untrained plants may reach up to 8m (26').
