Esomeprazole is a drug that belongs to a group of medicines called "proton pump inhibitors" (PPIs). They work by reducing the amount of acid that your stomach produces. It is used to treat GERD and Acid reflux but is also used to help with symptoms of stomach ulcers caused by the use of NSAIDs or by a helicobacter pylori infection. Esomeprazole is effective and convenient at treating acid reflux as it only needs to be taken once a day to alleviate symptoms for the whole day.
