The name Compagnie des Indes is derived from the East Indian companies (Great Britain, Holland, France and Portugal). These trading companies travelled to America and India to import various goods into their home country. The brand Compagnie des Indes Rum was founded in 2014 and includes selected blends as well as single cask bottlings from various distilleries. The Single Cask Rum has a maturation period of 30 years.
