Itea virginica 'Love Child' is a tidy, compact hardy deciduous shrub with a rounded habit. Scented, cream-white flower spikes decorate the plant in May and June, contrasting wonderfully against the vivid green leaves. As we head into autumn, the foliage transforms to warm burgundy to create a striking display in the garden as many other varieties begin to fade. This Sweet Spire requires moist, acid to neutral soil, making it an ideal specimen plant for acid borders or woodland gardens. Height and spread: 120cm (48).
