Magnolia 'March Till Frost'

125

Magnolia ?March Till Frost? really lives up to its name! This liliflora type provides an abundance of flowers in March/April and flowers continuously until the first frosts in autumn. The vertical blooms don't open fully, forming graceful, tulip-like flowers that transform colour as the season progresses. The first blooms are light pink whereas the later ones deepen to a shade of cherry red. The colour of the inner tepals is pink-white, creating a stunning contrast with the deeper colour of the exterior. The upright, candle-like, magenta seed pods contrast wonderfully with the leaves, providing a second season of colour and interest. ?March Till Frost? grows into a compact, vertical, well-branching tree with lush, deep green foliage. An exceptional deciduous shrub or tree for a small to medium growing space. Height and spread: 2- 5m (6.5-16ft).
